Reconciliation Diff Checker

Paste two lists — invoices, bank statement lines, ledger extracts, inventory counts — and find what is missing on either side, what does not match and what is duplicated. Everything is compared in your browser, nothing is uploaded.

Each line is read as key plus amount: "INV-1001, 1,250.00", "INV-1001 1250" and "INV-1001 1250.00" all work. If a line has no amount, only the key is compared.

What is the Reconciliation Diff Checker?

Reconciliation is the boring part of finance work: taking two lists that should agree — invoices against payments, your ledger against a bank statement, a warehouse count against the system — and finding the handful of lines that do not. Doing it by eye in a spreadsheet means scrolling, sorting and re-sorting until something looks off. This tool compares by key: it matches rows across both lists, totals each side, and shows only the lines that need a human decision.

FAQ

What should I paste into each box?

Anything with one line per item, containing a key and optionally an amount. Copy-paste straight from Excel or Google Sheets keeps the tab separator, which is the most reliable format. A CSV export also works; you can paste just the two columns you need.

Why is a line reported as missing when I can see it in both lists?

Almost always a key difference: a trailing space, different capitalisation, a leading zero dropped by the spreadsheet, or a prefix such as "INV-" present on one side only. Turn on near-match suggestions to see the likely partner, and check the key column setting if your key is not the first column.

Does it upload my bank statement or invoice list?

No. The whole tool is one HTML file: parsing, matching and the CSV report are computed locally in your browser. There is no account, no tracking of your input and no server-side copy of your data.
