QR Code Generator

Turn a link, a Wi-Fi password or any short text into a QR code, then download it as a PNG. Everything is generated in your browser.

The code is generated locally. Test it with your phone camera before printing it small.

What is a QR code?

A QR code stores data in a square grid of black and white modules that a camera can read in any orientation. The built-in error correction keeps it scannable even if part of the code is dirty, folded or covered by a logo.

How to use this tool

  1. Paste a link or type the text you want to encode.
  2. Pick an error correction level: M is a good default for screens and print.
  3. Choose the module size — larger modules stay readable when printed small.
  4. Download the PNG and test it with a phone.

FAQ

Which error correction level should I choose?

M recovers about 15% of the code and is the usual default. Use H when the code will be printed on a curved surface, or when you plan to put a logo in the middle. Higher levels make the code denser.

How much text fits in one QR code?

This generator supports versions 1 to 10, which is up to 271 bytes at level L or 119 bytes at level H — enough for any URL and a short Wi-Fi or contact string.

Why does the image look blocky?

A QR code is a grid of square modules, so it always looks blocky. Keep the module size at least 4 pixels for screens and let the printed size stay above 2×2 cm.

Can I scan a QR code without a phone app?

Most modern phone cameras detect QR codes in the default camera app. If yours does not, any free scanner app will read it.
